Float Equipment |
| |
CTE offers a complete range of high performance innovative float equipment. Different Series have been designed for various downhole operating conditions. The standard Series for the 300 and 330 equipment use HV float valves that are designed for high flow rates though design of the largest valve flow areas to eliminate valve erosion.
The PDC Drillable valves are offered in different sizes that have been flow tested and independently verified to exceed API Category III flow specifications. Temperature ratings for the valves are a standard Category B, with Category C and higher rated valves available. Valves are assembled with composite materials that have been engineered to provide maximum strength while providing excellent wear, temperature and drillablity properties.
Standard features include shoes that have a composite integral protective nose for all popular long and intermediate casing sizes and API threads that are coated to eliminate galling during make up.
Side ports, down jets, up jets, double valves, and aluminum spade noses can be incorporated in the equipment as options. Other optional features include automatic filling valves to allow the casing to fill as the casing is being run with conversion of the valve to a check valve by pumping fluid at a predetermined rate to convert the valve.
Series 300, 320 and 330 - Float Shoes, Guide Shoes and Float Collars
The Series 300 Float Shoes, 320 Guide Shoes and 330 Float Collars are available in size 4 ½” to 30” casing and for tubing sizes.

Series 304 and 334 - Valve Float Shoes
The Series 304 Float Shoes are designed for demanding downhole applications. Well bore conditions with sever doglegs, high build rates, extended horizontal runs, ledges or sloughing require shoes designed to find the hole and or ream the casing to final depth.
Two styles of noses are offered; bullet noses for use when casing rotation cannot be performed or is not anticipated; or eccentric noses when casing rotation can be performed and hole finding functionality is a prime consideration. Optional reaming pads with carbide cutters can be provided to enhance the equipment’s functionality when swelling or sloughing is encountered. The reaming pads are offered in either straight bladed or diamond patterns, both which offer neutral reaming characteristics. High flow valves that exceed API Category IIIB requirements are standard for the 304 Series equipment with high temperature IIIC valves available. Double valves, side ports and auto fill options can also be incorporated in to the shoes.

Series 350 - Insert Float Valve
The Series 350 Insert Float Valve is designed to be installed into a casing coupling. The Insert Float Valve is a check valve to prevent cement flow returning into the casing after displacement and it serves as a landing plate for landing the displacement cement plug(s) on. This valve is for use in shallow wells where lower differential pressures are encountered.
The option to fill the casing can be achieved through installation of the auto filling sleeve. This sleeve allows the valve to remain open during running operations. The valve is converted to a check valve through the surface release of the trip ball during circulation. The trip ball, sleeve and lock ring is supplied in the auto fill kit.

Stab-In / Latch-In series
CTE offers two series of equipment for inner string cementing operations.
The Stab In Series is comprised of the 301 Stab In Float Shoes, the 331 Stab In Float Collar and the 361 Stab In Stinger. The shoes and collars utilize the #37 HV valve to ensure a positive seal in high pump rate operations.
The Latch In series offers the 302 Latch In Float Shoe, the 332 Latch In Float Collar and the 362 Latch In Stinger. The #37 HV valves are used in this series of equipment.
The stinger receptacle is drillable cast with PDC drillable alloy or composite plastic receptacles available as an option for all series. Double valves are available for both shoes and collars. Side ports, down jets or up jets are also available for all series of inner string equipment.
The inner string cementing equipment is available in size 9 5/8” to 30” casing.
